The main elements that facilitate the establishment of intimacy and the main stages of intimacy

The main elements that promote the establishment of intimacy can be summarised into five:

1. Appropriate symmetry: Each person exhibits similar behavior; speaking in the same voice and in the same spirit, it is easy to resonate together;

2. Appropriate complementarity: the roles, behaviors and personal attributes are complementary; strengths and weaknesses complement each other and are mutually reinforcing, with a particular tendency to merge into one;

3. Intimacy: Includes characteristics such as warmth, understanding, communication, support, sharing, etc., and can be seen as essential for relationship building;

4. Passion: characterized by the arousal of physical desire, including any strong emotion that is satisfied by the partner;

5. Commitment includes the decision to commit oneself to a relationship and the effort to maintain it and is honored by action behavior.
